Jerome McCarthy created the concept of the Marketing 4Ps back in the 1960s, since when they have been taught in marketing courses worldwide. The theory is that the ideal “Marketing Mix” should consist of a balanced combination of 4 P’s ie:

- Place
- Promotion
- Consumers
- Costs
- Convenience
- Communications
